Alpha pairs Alia Bhatt with the rising star of the Hindi film industry, Sharvari, in this relentless action thriller, that also has Anil Kapoor & Bobby Deol in pivotal roles. Alia and Sharvari will go toe to toe against Bobby in this brutal showdown.

_Alpha_ marks Alia’s first film with Yash Raj Films. It is also the first female-led out and out action film of India with Alia and Sharvari teaming up to pull off action sequences that audiences have never seen a girl do before on screen.

Alpha is directed by Shiv Rawail, who had previously directed YRF’s global hit series The Railway Men. The film has been produced by Aditya Chopra.

The film was earlier slated to release on December 25 last year and then was pushed to April 17 this year. But the date has been changed again. There were a lot of reports that it may streaming directly on OTT and Netflix could be the streaming partner with a deal of Rs 215 crore. But it’s all falsely reported.

**YRF breaks silence**

In a statement to Variety India, the YRF spokesperson said, “[That] ‘Alpha’ [is] going to stream directly [is a rumor that] aims at putting a heroine-fronted film in an unflattering light. Yash Raj Films will never put films from its theatrical slate directly to streaming. We are a studio that takes immense pride in making cinematic experiences.” And to underscore that point, adds, “‘Alpha’ is a tentpole movie for the company.”
