Sunita Ahuja dismisses rumours about Govinda’s alleged affair and blackmail, stresses family values, and reveals son Yash’s Bollywood struggles without Govinda’s help.
Sunita Ahuja, wife of veteran actor Govinda, has publicly addressed swirling rumours about her husband’s personal life, including claims of an alleged affair and accusations of blackmail over money.
In an interview with Miss Malini, Ahuja addressed the speculation and spoke candidly about the situation.
2025 was a disaster
Sunita recalled how the past year was for her and her family life. “The year 2025 was a disaster for me. My family life was disrupted. I was hearing things about Govinda. I was not happy with the things I was hearing about him. There is a age to do certain things and at 63 to hear these things, it is not good, especially when your kids are grown up. In 2026, I just hope bhagwan Govinda ko sadbuddhi de. He must understand that family is family, and when you are in trouble, nobody stands beside you. They are only there for money. Once you stop giving the money, they will go.”
Talking about what makes a marriage last, Sunita said, “It is important to have faith in your spouse. Once you lose that trust, the marriage doesn’t last. These days, divorce and infidelity have become very common. It is not good according to me.”
Response to Affair Rumours
Responding to rumour-mongering about an
alleged relationship, Sunita Ahuja said she has heard it all before and was not impressed by fresh gossip.
While discussing how public figures are often subjected to unfounded commentary, she referred to how lot of girls look for “sugar daddies” when they attempt to become actors just to bypass the struggle. “These days girls come and struggle in the film industry. They need a sugar daddy to take care of their expenses. Shakal do kodi ka hai, par heroine banna hai (Their appearance is worthless, but they want to become a heroine). They then blackmail people.”
She continued, “These type of girls come a lot in film industry, but then you are not a naive person, you are 63 years old, you have a good family, you have a beautiful wife and two big kids.
You can’t do this at the age of 63. You did this when you were young, then it is fine. We also did mistakes when we were young, but not at this age. You have to get Tina (Govinda and Sunita’s daughter) married, Yash’s whole career is in front of him. He should focus on this.”
Won’t forgive Govinda if the claims are true
Talking about the rumours of
Govinda’s affair, Sunita remarked, “I am again telling you all things are done by the family. And also these people who wants Rs 50K, Rs 1 lakh, who keep roaming around him, he only listens to them and works according to them, which is not good. If I will get a confirmation, I will never forgive Govinda.”
Govinda doesn’t help son Yash, told him not to be like his father
Sunita Ahuja also spoke about their son Yash, who is trying to get a break in Bollywood. She empasised that Govinda has not helped Yash at all in making it to Bollywood. “Yash is a self-made boy. He hasn’t taken help from his father. He has given 90 auditions, being Govinda‘s son. He didn’t ask Govinda to call anyone. Govinda also never helped Yash. I told Govinda on his face ‘tu baap hai ki kya hai if you won’t help our kids, who will?’ See Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, how they all are supporting their sons. I told Govinda that he has to support his son, but I don’t understand thinking. The company that he keeps is so bad, I don’t know what they teach him. His own career is ruined.”
She even added, “I had told my son not to copy Govinda. I tell him that when I gave birth to you at that time I had watched Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan on screen. He is like them only.”
Back in 2025, rumours were doing the rounds that
Govinda and his wife might be heading for divorce. However, Ahuja quashed the reports.
