The similarities, from matching backgrounds to identical beach loungers and towels, fuelled speculation that the two were vacationing together, which in turn led to intense chatter about their personal lives.
As per a report by DNA India, Karina grew up in the Carlisle and Wetheral areas of Cumbria in the UK. She is said to have Lithuanian heritage, with familial ties to Greece as well. Her mother, Jovita Kubiliene-Thompson, runs a hospitality venture in Cumbria, while her father, David Thompson, is also involved in the family-run business.
As the online buzz grew louder, Karina took to social media to clear the air. She updated her Instagram bio to read, “I don’t know Kartik, I’m not his gf, I’m on holiday with my family,” and she also reacted to a comment on a viral post with the blunt message, “I’m not his gffff!!! Lois bro STFU,” effectively denying she is dating the actor.
Can Kartik really be labelled a ‘pedophile’
No sooner did the news start going viral than netizens quickly jumped in to call Aaryan a ‘pedophile’. This is because Karina is apparently 17 years old (her age remains ambiguous with several reports claiming that she is 18), which means she is a minor.

Kartik was dating Karina (which has been categorically denied by the latter), he can’t be called a ‘pedophile’. The reason – pedophiles are those attracted to children, the ones who have not entered their teens.
Secondly, Karina’s age, described in reports as 17, places her above the age of consent in many jurisdictions, including the UK, where consent can legally begin at 16.
