Manchester United are getting ready to show off their new signing Benjamin Sesko at Old Trafford on Saturday, August 9. The Slovenian striker is in Manchester for the second part of his medical and will reportedly be introduced to the fans before today’s pre-season friendly against Fiorentina.

Sesko joined Man Utd from RB Leipzig in a deal worth up to £74 million, including add-ons. United had agreed an initial £66.3m fee, but bonuses could push it higher. Newcastle also tried to sign him but could not convince him to join the club. Now,  a new report has revealed that United are planning to unveil Sesko today.

Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano took to his official social media handle to confirm the news on Friday evening. “Plan confirmed: Šeško will be unveiled at Old Trafford on Saturday. He’s now completing second part of his medical at Man United,” he said.

The 22-year-old is Ruben Amorim’s fourth signing of the summer after Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Diego Leon. Sesko is seen as a long-term solution for United’s striker position, having scored 39 goals in 87 appearances for the German side. His arrival may mean Rasmus Hojlund will no longer be United’s main striker.

Sesko is expected to start training with the team next week. He will be hoping to make an immediate impact for United, who suffered a horrid season in 2024-25, finishing 15th in the Premier League table and missing out on European football. Sesko may make his debut for the club in their opening game of the season against rivals Arsenal on August 17.
