There were rumours there were plans to bring Hrithik Roshan on board but the actor has issued a statement amid the rumours floating around
So Ranveer Singh is not doing Don 3. That’s what has been reported. There have been creative differences between the actor and the makers (Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani). There were rumours there were plans to bring Hrithik Roshan on board but the actor has issued a statement amid the rumours floating around.
Roshan, who had a cameo in
_Don 2_, told Variety India, “What started off as just a rumour has now taken on an entire life of its own, and it’s important to set the record straight. I would like to categorically clarify that I was never approached for Don 3 at any given time. Requesting media to steer clear of any such unverified reports.”
What has happened between the two parties?
A report by Bollywood Hungama says, “
Ranveer blamed Excel Entertainment for unprofessionalism and not being serious about taking Don 3 on floors. He stated that Farhan Akhtar never had a bound script in place and that, as an actor, he prefers to work only with fully developed material.”
It adds, “Ranveer also pointed out that Farhan was never open to feedback on the script and had issues incorporating certain subplots. He further alleged that Excel was exploring the possibility of getting Hrithik Roshan on board and only re-approached him after the success of Dhurandhar, to capitalise on his momentum.”
The
Don 3 fiasco intensifies
A source on anonymity told Variety India, “Ranveer claims he left the project because he wasn’t happy with the script. He kept asking for changes to be made and didn’t like what the final draft read. Excel, on the other hand, claims that they went ahead with pre-production only after Singh gave his go ahead.”
The production banner, sources say, believes the actor should compensate the company for the damages incurred, which are reportedly as staggering as Rs 40 crore. An official statement from both the parties is awaited as the issue continues to intensify. The Producers Guild of India (PGI) is now likely to act as the mediator.
