Govinda and Sunita Ahuja have been married to each other for a close 40 years. They are blessed with two children. Their daughter Tina has already made her acting debut with the 2015 film Second Hand Husband whereas their son is reportedly in talks to star in director Sajid Khan’s next comedy.

The actor himself has stayed away from the big screen for the last six years, last seen in the 2019 dud Rangeela Raja. Of late, Sunita has made a lot of controversial statements about her husband that seems to have him.

In an interview with ANI, when asked about his wife’s allegations about his extra-marital relationship,
Govinda was quoted saying, “What I’ve been observing lately is that sometimes when we don’t speak, we either appear weak or it seems like we are simply the problem. So today, I’m responding. I was told that people in my family might be unknowingly involved and they won’t realise they are being used in the initial stages of a big conspiracy.”

The actor added, “First, the family gets affected, and then it extends to society. I’ve been disconnected from work for many years; there’s no market for my films. Please don’t mistake this as me complaining or crying. I’ve rejected many films myself, so I don’t cry about it.”

What Sunita Ahuja said

Sunita recalled how the past year was for her and her family life. “The year 2025 was a disaster for me. My family life was disrupted. I was hearing things about Govinda. I was not happy with the things I was hearing about him. There is a age to do certain things and at 63 to hear these things, it is not good, especially when your kids are grown up. In 2026, I just hope bhagwan Govinda ko sadbuddhi de. He must understand that family is family, and when you are in trouble, nobody stands beside you. They are only there for money. Once you stop giving the money, they will go.”
