The man approached the north gate of the West Palm Beach estate carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can before moving into the protected perimeter. Agents and a Palm Beach County deputy confronted him inside the restricted zone and opened fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released pending family notification.
