US Deputy Secretary, Finnish President to attend Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi – Firstpost

US Deputy Secretary Christopher Landau and Finnish President Alexander Stubb will visit New Delhi this week for the Raisina Dialogue 2026, holding high-level talks focused on defence, trade, multilateral cooperation and strengthening bilateral ties amid evolving regional and global challenges.

US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau will visit New Delhi from March 3-6, where he will be leading the US delegation to the 2026 Raisina Dialogue, which is India’s prominent geopolitical forum.  

According to the US Embassy, the Deputy Secretary is set to meet senior Indian officials to review cooperation in defence, critical minerals, and counternarcotics. The discussions will also focus on expanding trade and improving market access for American companies, while reinforcing a shared commitment to a free, open and prosperous Indo-Pacific.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb will also visit India from March 4 to 7 at the invitation of PM Narendra Modi. During the visit, he will serve as Chief Guest and deliver the keynote address at the 11th Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi.  

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, he will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ministers, senior officials and business leaders, with the visit focused on strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.

The release noted that this will be President Stubb’s first visit to India since assuming office. Beyond his participation at the Raisina Dialogue, he is scheduled to hold talks with the Prime Minister aimed at further strengthening bilateral ties and discussing key regional and global issues of shared interest.

A major focus of the visit will be discussions on cooperation in multilateral platforms, along with efforts to strengthen people-to-people ties and expand economic partnerships. After the talks, Prime Minister Modi will host a luncheon in President Stubb’s honour.

During his stay, the Finnish President is also scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, while External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will hold separate discussions with him.
