At the ongoing Japan Mobility Show 2025, carmakers like Honda, Toyota, and Suzuki have shown up in full force to preview their future models. Given the relevance of the Indian market, some of those models will make their way here too. Let’s dive into every car at Japan Mobility Show 2025 that’s been confirmed for an India launch in the coming years.
Honda 0 Series SUV
Launching in 2026
Honda India’s current three-strong model portfolio is quite sparse, but the Japanese carmaker plans to bolster it with the all-electric 0 Series SUV next year. Based on a new born-EV platform, the 0 Series SUV is a software-defined vehicle (SDV) that comes with a vehicle-wide operating system dubbed ASIMO OS and Level 3 ADAS.
Battery pack options for the 0 Series SUV will range between 80kWh and 100kWh. Honda will bring the 0 Series SUV to India via the CBU route – expect pricing upwards of Rs 80 lakh – and position it as a halo model to showcase the brand’s EV technology.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Flex Fuel
Launching in 2026
Though E20 petrol was mandated just this year (to much controversy), Maruti Suzuki is set to launch a flex fuel version of the Fronx that can support blends of up to E85 (85 percent ethanol, 15 percent petrol). This was previewed via the Fronx FFV (Flex Fuel Vehicle) concept at Japan Mobility Show 2025, and will allow Maruti Suzuki to be prepared for future increases in ethanol-petrol blending by the Indian government.
Precise specifications for the FFV concept’s engine have yet to be disclosed, but this version is otherwise identical (save for the green stickers) to the Fronx currently sold in India.
Honda 0 a (Alpha) SUV
Launching in 2027
The 0 a SUV is the second Honda 0 Series model that’s confirmed to be headed to India, and was showcased in near-production spec at Japan Mobility Show 2025. Where the larger 0 Series SUV will be sold as a CBU here, though, the 0 a SUV will be manufactured in India.
This will allow Honda to competitively price the 0 a and take on electric midsize SUVs in Rs 25-30 lakh range. Two battery packs will be available for the 0 a SUV, the capacities of which Honda hasn’t specified, but says will be in line with those offered by rivals.
Toyota FJ Cruiser
Launching in late 2028
Globally unveiled just a weeks ago, the Land Cruiser FJ is the new entry-level model for Toyota’s Land Cruiser line-up of SUVs, built on the same IMV body-on-frame platform that underpins the Fortuner, Hilux, and Innova Crysta. At Japan Mobility Show 2025, Toyota confirmed that the Land Cruiser FJ is India-bound and will be manufactured here at the carmaker’s new Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar plant in Maharashtra.
The aim with the Land Cruiser FJ is to plug the large gap between the Hyryder and Fortuner in Toyota India’s SUV portfolio, and prices for the new SUV could start from Rs 30 lakh thanks to heavy localisation. In India, the Land Cruiser FJ will be offered with a 163hp, 2.7-litre petrol engine, mated to either a strong hybrid or plug-in hybrid setup, and 4WD will be part of the package too. Diesel engines are, unfortunately, off the table for the Land Cruiser FJ in India.
All prices are ex-showroom, India.
