49kWh, 61kWh choices likely

The 2026 Toyota electric vehicle is likely to offer the same 49kWh-144hp and 61kWh-174hp battery and motor choices as the upcoming e Vitara. While single charge range figures for the Toyota EV are not available right now, the bigger battery pack could offer a single charge range of up to 543km (on the ARAI cycle).

Save for bits like sleeker DRLs and LED headlights, bridged by a thick black trim and a smoother front bumper with two vertical air vents on the edges, the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV closely resembles the e Vitara. Even the aero-optimised design for the wheels, likely 18 inches, is unchanged.

Inside, the layout is also very similar to the e Vitara. The India-spec Urban Cruiser EV is expected to pack goodies like a 10.1-inch digital driver’s display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated front seats, an Infinity sound system, and more.

Level 2 ADAS, 7 airbags

Coming to the safety kit, the electric SUV is expected to offer Level 2 ADAS with lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control, along with 7 airbags, a tyre pressure monitor, a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, disc brakes for all 4 wheels, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold and an acoustic vehicle alert system (AVAS).
