Toyota Land Cruiser and Vellfire among latest recalled for 360 degree camera issue

A voluntary recall has been issued for two more Toyota cars and three Lexus models for the same potential problem with the 360-degree as the recently recalled Camry. Toyota’s Land Cruiser 300 and Vellfire, along with the Lexus RX and NX SUVs and the LM MPV appear to need the same fix to the 360-degree camera’s parking assist ECU.

The Toyota recall for the 360 degree camera issue has expanded from 2,257 units of the Camry to a total of 6,309 units. The affected models – 1,862 Vellfires, 744 land Cruisers, 745 Lexus RXs, 443 NXs and 258 LMs – are said to have the same software glitch with the parking assist ECU as the Camry, which can cause the image on the infotainment touchscreen to freeze while reversing or result in no image displayed “if the ignition is turned on or off within a specific time”.

Toyota Land Cruiser 300 price range is Rs 2.16 crore-2.25 crore

Toyota brought the latest Land Cruiser 300 to India in February 2025, and the full-size luxury SUV is priced between Rs 2.16 crore-2.25 crore. The current Vellfire, which is Toyota’s other luxury car in India, has been on sale since August 2023, and the hybrid MPV costs Rs 1.20 crore-1.30 crore. Lexus’ more premium version of the Vellfire, the LM MPV, launched in India in March 2024, and costs Rs 2.15-2.69 crore, while the RX (April 2023) and NX (March 2022) have price ranges of Rs 96 lakh-1.18 crore and Rs 66.59 lakh-73.40 lakh, respectively. Lexus updated the NX 350h in August and the LM in October this year with more features and an E20-compliant hybrid engine.
