Royal Enfield discontinued the previous gen air-cooled Himalayan 411 to make way for the new Himalayan 450 back in late 2023. That left a gap in the market as the new Himalayan was not only bigger, but also considerably more expensive. Delhi based custom house has now made a motorcycle for those who wish that the previous gen Himalayan wasn’t discontinued, but had received an update instead.

This Himalayan 440 uses Scram 440 engine components
Owners of Himalayan and Scram 411 can retrofit these parts to create their own 440s
The bike you see here is not a new RE Scram 440 modified to look like a Himalayan. Instead, it started life as a Himalayan 411. Naveen Nandal of TNT Motorcycles tells us that they used OEM RE parts of the Scram 440 to increase the engine size up to 443cc. Similarly, a sixth gear was added to the gearbox and Naveen says that this was a fairly straightforward process using OEM parts and without too many major modifications needed. The Scram 440 makes 25.4hp at 6250rpm and 34Nm at 4,000rpm which is up from the Himalayan 411’s 24hp and 32Nm.
But the upgrades don’t stop there and TNT has also given the bike the cross spoked rims from the Himalayan 450 along with the same braking set up as the bigger Himalayan. The bike also gets upgraded YSS suspension. Another mod that tourers would appreciate is the custom fuel tank that looks similar to stock but holds 21-litres. Made out of Aluminium, Naveen tells us that this tank weighs a similar amount to the stock 15-litre tank.
The cost (excluding GST) for upgrading a Himalayan 411 (or Scram 411) engine and gearbox to the 440 setup will be Rs 38,000 – and the aluminium fuel tank will set you back by Rs 32,000. For more information we’d recommend reaching out to custom house TNT Motorcycles.
