The eldest child of Sir David Beckham and his wife Lady Victoria Beckham, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, has announced that he is breaking away from his parents, accusing them of “attacking” him and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, trying to ruin their relationship and placing “lies” about them in the media.
Reports of a rift within the Beckham family, involving Brooklyn and Nicola and his parents,
have been a hot topic in the British media for some time. Now breaking his silence on the rumours, Brooklyn said he wanted to keep matters private but had “no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth”.
Brooklyn Beckham: ‘I do not want to reconcile with my family’
“I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,” the 26-year-old Brooklyn wrote on Instagram. “Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
He further added: “Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”
A large part of the statement was focused on how David and Victoria Beckham have allegedly tried to ruin Brooklyn’s relationship with Nicola, the daughter of billionaire Nelson Peltz.
“Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade,” Brooklyn wrote.

He added that her mother, who is also a fashion designer, “cancelled making Nicola’s [wedding] dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.”
Brooklyn alleged that his parents tried to force him to “sign away” the rights to his name ahead of the marriage and that the “holdout affected the payday”.
“[Victoria and David] have never treated me the same since,” Brooklyn added.
Brooklyn also shared an incident from his wedding, when his mother hijacked his first wedding with his wife and left him humiliated.
“Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule [it] was planned to be my first romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead,” he claimed.
“She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everybody. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”
Brooklyn, who has worked as a model, also refuted the claims that he is controlled by his wife Nicola.
“For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared,” Brooklyn wrote.
“My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”

Meanwhile, an insider has told Page Six that it was last week that Brooklyn decided to make the whole affair public after reading about things that “weren’t true.”
“From Brooklyn and [wife] Nicola [Peltz’s] perspective they have tried everything they can to repair the relationship privately with David and Victoria, they’ve tried to talk it out, have tried to have meetings with them, but ultimately in the end they just didn’t trust them anymore,” a source told Page Six.
“They’d had enough. This ultimately has become a huge power struggle between two powerful families … The couple just doesn’t want to deal with it anymore.
“They’ve had it and just want to move on in their lives. Last week was the last straw, they just couldn’t handle it anymore.”
David Beckham and wife, Victoria, are yet to react to the allegations made by Brooklyn. Besides Brooklyn, Beckhams have two other sons, Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20 and a daughter, Harper, 14.
