Tata Motors has teased the Punch facelift via its official social media handles. Closely matching what we predicted in a previous article, Tata also confirmed that the latest avatar of its sub-4-metre SUV will be unveiled on January 13, 2026. Let us now look at some of the design aspects of the 2026 Tata Punch, as revealed in the official teaser.
- First major update for the ICE-powered Punch since its launch in 2021.
- Gets a revised front fascia, redesigned alloy wheels and new LED lights.
- Will remain mechanically similar to the pre-facelift model.
2026 Tata Punch exterior design and features
The facelift’s styling is mostly unique, with some cues borrowed from its EV counterpart.
The teaser showcases the front fascia of the 2026 Tata Punch, featuring an entirely new bumper with black cladding and a silver surround for the air dam. The upper portion of the bumper gets dual air-intake slits, while its lower corners house air curtains. Above these are the Punch facelift’s new vertically-stacked LED headlights, similar to what is seen on the Punch EV. Where the latter has a full-width LED bar, the ICE-powered Punch facelift gets a black trim in the middle, flanked by sleek LED DRLs.
The Punch facelift’s top trims will come with new alloy wheels, whose design looks more intricate than what we see in the existing model. At the back, the 2026 Tata Punch gets connected taillights set in black plastic trim. Finally, the Tata logo seen up front and on the tailgate of the Punch facelift is different to the ones on the pre-facelift model. As seen in earlier spy shots, the 2026 Punch will retain the older model’s general silhouette while offering buyers at least a couple of new colour options.
2026 Tata Punch powertrain
The naturally aspirated petrol mill will remain unchanged.
The Punch facelift will be powered by the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that powers the pre-facelift model. When fuelled solely with petrol, it makes around 88hp and 115Nm of torque, with the figures falling to 73.5hp and 103Nm when running on CNG. The petrol-only variants are currently available with a choice of a 5-speed AMT and 5-speed manual, whilst the CNG variants only get the manual gearbox – this will not change with the facelift.
2026 Tata Punch expected price
The 2026 Tata Punch is expected to be priced at approximately Rs 6.00 lakh for the base trim, going up to around Rs 9.50 lakh for the range-topping trim. For context, the existing model costs between Rs 5.50 lakh and Rs 9.30 lakh for the base and top trims, respectively. The closest rivals of the Tata Punch are the Citroen C3, Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Hyundai Exter.
