Suzuki has opened bookings for its first electric scooter, the Suzuki e-Access, marking the brand’s entry into the Indian electric two-wheeler market. We reviewed the e-Access early last year and the brand has finally launched it now at a price of Rs 1.88 lakh.

1. e-Access is one of the first scooters to get an LFP battery
2. The motor produces 4.1kW and 15Nm of torque
3. At Rs 1.88 lakh, it is one of the most expensive mass-market E-scooter on sale

e-Access launched with a new colour

It has a claimed IDC range of 95km

Along with the start of bookings, Suzuki has introduced a new dual-tone colour option – Matte blue with gray – expanding the e-Access range to four colour choices.

The e-Access is built around Suzuki’s in-house electric architecture, branded as Suzuki e-Technology. Central to this is a 3kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, which the company claims offers significantly longer service life than conventional NMC batteries. It has a claimed IDC range of 95km. Suzuki says the battery and drivetrain have been subjected to extensive testing, including water submersion, thermal stress, vibration and drop tests, in line with its global validation standards.

Power comes from a 4.1kW swingarm mounted motor producing 15Nm of torque. The scooter features three riding modes – Eco, Ride A and Ride B – along with regenerative braking and a reverse assist function. Suzuki claims consistent throttle response even at low battery charge levels, a key concern for urban EV users.
The chassis uses a lightweight frame with the aluminium battery case integrated into the structure, aimed at improving rigidity and stability. It gets a belt final drive, which Suzuki says is maintenance-free and rated for up to 70,000km or seven years.

On the ownership front, Suzuki will retail the e-Access through its network of over 1,200 dealerships across India. DC fast chargers are currently available at more than 240 outlets, while portable AC chargers are offered across the entire network.

Suzuki e-Access price

The Suzuki e-Access is priced at Rs 1.88 lakh(ex-showroom, Delhi) and the bookings have commenced, with deliveries to begin shortly. At this price, it slots in between the recently launched Simple One Gen 2 (Rs 1.70 lakh) and the Ather 450 Apex (Rs 1.90 lakh). It is priced quite steeply, costing more than the 5.3kWh variant of the TVS iQube as well, that retails at Rs 1.58 lakh.

Additionally, the e-Access will also be available on Flipkart once the deliveries begin. The company is also offering 7 year/ 80,000km extended warranty coverage at no-extra cost and buy-back assurance of 60 percent for 3 years, as part of its introductory push.
