Amid the wedding fiasco,
Smriti Mandhana skipped attending Netflix’s ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ to celebrate Women’s cricket team’s world cup win.

What happens in the promo

In the promo, Kapil is seen asking Indian women’s cricket captain Harmanpreet Kaur about the bhangra moves she showed off while lifting the trophy. Joining the conversation, Jemimah revealed that it was Smriti Mandhana who had encouraged her to break into the dance.

What Palash wrote on Instagram

“Its been very difficult for me to see people react so easily on baseless rumours about something which has been most sacred to me. Its the most difficult phase of my life and I will deal with it gracefully holding on to my beliefs. I truly hope we, as a society, learn to pause before judging someone based on unverified gossip, whose sources are never identified. Our words can wound in ways we may never understand,” he wrote, requesting empathy and restraint.

This announcement also came on the heels of a confirmation from Smriti Mandhana herself that the wedding was cancelled. She has appealed for privacy for both families during this sensitive time.

She wrote, “Over the past few weeks there has been plenty of speculation around my life, and I feel it is important for me to speak out at this time. I am a very private person and I would like to keep it that way, but I need to clarify that the wedding is called off.”
