Royal Enfield has introduced an updated side stand for the Himalayan 450, addressing a concern that many owners have raised since the motorcycle’s launch. The revised component features a straighter design and reduces the extent to which the bike leans when parked.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 side stand update
New side stand reduces lean angle
Given the Himalayan’s hefty 196kg kerb weight, the steep lean angle caused by the current side stand can make it difficult to lift the bike off the stand – especially on uneven surfaces, loose sand, or sloped ground. This was also one of the few shortcomings we noted during our long-term review of the bike.
The updated side stand offers a slightly more upright resting position, thanks to a design that’s noticeably less curved than the current unit.
Existing Himalayan 450 owners can upgrade to the new side stand through authorised Royal Enfield service centres. However, not all dealerships appear to have received stock yet, so we recommend checking with your nearest outlet to confirm availability.
Some reports also suggest that the updated part comes standard on the 2026 Himalayan 450, but there is no official confirmation of this yet. For those looking to add the part to your bike, the new side stand is priced at Rs 3,250, and it should become more widely available across dealerships in the coming weeks.
