River Indie Gen 3: What’s new?

Continues to boast 43 liters of underseat storage

The Indie Gen 3 brings upgraded tyres for better grip, a redesigned display with clearer range and charging information, and improved app connectivity offering ride statistics, real-time charging status and customisable data points. Hill-hold assist has been added as well, River claims that the riding dynamics have been tweaked based on rider feedback. It continues to boast a huge 43 litres of underseat storage that has long been its USP with 12 litres of glovebox storage.

Performance aspects, however, remain unchanged. The scooter continues to use a 4kWh battery with a claimed IDC range of 163km. Its motor has a peak power of 6.7kW, good for a top speed of 90kph. River claims that it takes about five hours to charge from 0–80 percent. Braking is handled by discs at both ends with a combined braking system.

Priced at Rs 1.46 lakh, the River Indie is available in 5 colour options with contrasting black accents.

River expands in the northern region

The new scooter was unveiled at River’s first Delhi store in Rajouri Garden that will serve as the company’s northern hub. With this, River now has 34 stores across India in cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kochi, Coimbatore, Patna and Hubli. The Bengaluru-based startup plans to expand to 80 stores by March 2026, with upcoming outlets in Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, thereby expanding its presence across middle and Northern India.
