None of the allegations were ever proven and were denied by Khan later. Producer Shailendra Singh has revisited that time and the aftermath of the infamous battle lines that were drawn overnight

Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi haven’t been able to see eye to eye since the latter’s 2003 press conference where he slammed the Dabangg star for threatening and abusing him over 41 calls. None of the allegations were ever proven and were denied by Khan later. Producer Shailendra Singh has revisited that time and the aftermath of the infamous battle lines that were drawn overnight.

In an interview with Siddharth Kanan, the producer revealed, “He was fuming. Earlier, he would openly show his emotions. Now, he has a lot more control. My only reaction after Vivek’s press conference was to tell Salman that in life, we should act, not react. Whatever needs to be done can be done later. For now, let’s sit, have a drink, and let him do whatever he’s doing.”

“I asked him to not act on impulse, wait and fight the battle silently.I think he did that. He made sure that Vivek doesn’t work in Bollywood anymore. I don’t know for sure, but that’s how it looks.”

When
Kareena Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan & Sanjay Leela Bhansali reacted to Salman Khan-Vivek Oberoi’s infamous controversy

Vivek Oberoi, who briefly dated Aishwarya Rai during the shooting of Kyun Ho Gaya Na, alleged that Salman Khan had called 41 times in one night and asked him to stay away from the latter, along with Rani Mukerji and Somy Ali, in an infamous press conference on 1st April 2003. This created a lot of stir at that time. Many celebs, including Kareena Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, reacted to the incident.

“If he had a problem with
Salman , why could he not solve it instead of going to the press? I have worked briefly with Salman for a film I finally did not do. He was thoroughly gentlemanly with me. My sister Karisma and Salman are very good friends. In fact, she contacted him immediately after this incident,” Kareena had said as per Times Now.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who was a close friend of Salman at that time, described the Tiger star as “the best human being I have met in my life.” He took a dig at Vivek and said “I am very scared of Vivek. I will never be able to work with him now. I may shout at him on the sets and he may call a press conference against me. All the heroines should touch his feet for protecting their dignity,” before adding, “The film industry functions on fraternal feelings. If there is a problem, we solve it in-house. Vivek has no business talking about Salman’s mental state. He should not have talked about his Coca-Cola campaign or Rani Mukherji, Diya Mirza and Aishwarya Rai at a time when he was supposed to be so distraught.”
