After days of boycott threat, political signalling, and frantic negotiations, India and Pakistan lock horns in a high-stakes T20 World Cup 2026 match at Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium on February 15 (Sunday).
Team India arrived in the Sri Lankan capital on February 13 (Friday) for the much awaited cricket match, while Pakistan team has been in Colombo from the start of the T20 World Cup 2026, playing two group games already.
India and Sri Lanka are the co-hosts, it is rare and strange for India to be playing a match outside their own country.
Fans offer prayers
Back home, faith and worship becomes a prominent part of the tradition. In Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh fans gathered at the Siddhivinayak Temple, to offer pujas and chants along with lighting diyas for team India’s triumph.

In Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh fans offered prayers at Dashashwamedh Ghat on Mahashivratri. Shivam Dube’s coach Satish Samant told PTI that India will continue to dominate Pakistan.
Nepalese fans also gathered at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, hoping and cheering team India for its win.
