Prime Minister Internship Scheme 2025: Following the overwhelming response of over 6 lakh applications in its first round, the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) has launched its second round, offering more than 1 lakh internship positions. The scheme connects aspiring young professionals with 12-month paid internships at leading companies across diverse sectors, including Oil & Gas, Banking, Hospitality, Automotive, Manufacturing, and FMCG.
Over 300 top companies across 730 districts in India are participating, providing opportunities for youth to gain practical experience, build professional networks, and enhance their employability. Applicants can choose internships based on location, sector, area of interest, and even specify a radius from their current address for convenience. In this round, each candidate can apply to a maximum of 3 internships before the deadline.
To raise awareness, more than 70 outreach events are being held nationwide, targeting colleges, universities, and vocational training institutes. Additionally, national digital campaigns are leveraging various platforms and influencers to reach potential applicants.

Selected interns receive monthly financial assistance of ₹5,000 and a one-time assistance of ₹6,000. The internships combine structured training with a minimum of six months of practical work experience.
It is available for those students who haven’t enrolled in a full-time job. Moreover, one must not have a family member (Self/Spouse/Parents) earning more than Rs 8 lakh per annum. And they mustn’t have a government job.
