Nearly four years after the Supreme Court upheld his death sentence in the 2000 Red Fort attack case, Pakistani terrorist Mohammad Arif has filed a curative plea, prompting the court to seek a response from the Delhi government

The Supreme Court has sought a response from the Delhi government on a curative petition filed by Mohammad Arif alias Ashfaq, a Pakistani terrorist on death row convicted in the 2000 Red Fort attack, as per news agency ANI.

The court had upheld his death sentence in November 2022 after dismissing his review plea. In 2024, President Droupadi Murmu also rejected his mercy petition.

Nearly four years after the apex court confirmed his death sentence, Arif has now approached the Supreme Court again through a curative plea, prompting the court to issue notice to the Delhi government for its response.
