Pawan Goyal, Chief Business Officer at Naukri.com, said hiring activity in calendar year 2025 has continued to grow at a consistent 6–7%, led by sectors such as travel, tourism, hospitality, real estate and education, marking a clear pickup after the flattish trend seen through 2024.

He noted that the uptrend is being powered largely by non-IT sectors, even though the overall hiring market has traditionally been indexed on the IT (sector). With IT hiring remaining broadly flat year-on-year, diversification beyond IT has held India in good state, Goyal said.

Expanding on the sectors driving the growth in hiring, Goyal told CNBC TV18, “hospitality is been in double digits (growth) throughout the various quarters.” Real Estate, education and even insurance has largely seen growth in double digits, “though we did see some slowdown in October and November, but it also has remained a consistent growth driver,” he added.

While oil and natural gas was a good growth driver, its growth has subdued in October and November, Goyal said.

According to the Naukri JobSpeak report for November 2025, white-collar hiring surged over 23% year-on-year in November, signalling a strong rebound after the festive-season lull. Whereas, for the combined October–November 2025 period, hiring rose over 6% year-on-year, in line with the typical 6–7% fiscal-year growth trend.

The report highlighted a broad shift toward non-IT sectors and a rising demand for ‘high-value’ roles. It also revealed a surge in hiring of freshers, 0–3 years experience, especially in service-led sectors like hospitality and education.

There was also increased hiring for senior professionals, 16+ years of experience, particularly in sectors like Healthcare and IT.

Goyal said, roles in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and data engineering, are growing significantly. AI hiring contininues to accelerate, with a growth rate of over 50%, he said.

While AI is expected to highly impact hiring in sectors like BPO and IT-enabled services, they continue to witness a growth of about 18-20%.
