In an aid to increase presence in tier-3 cities, Maruti Suzuki has unveiled its 200th Nexa Studio outlet. The inaugurated outlet is situated near the carmaker’s manufacturing facility in Khakhoda, Haryana.

  1. Nexa Studio is a compact version of Maruti’s premium showroom division
  2. The carmaker aims to open 600 Nexa Studio outlets by the end of FY 2030-31

As of now, Maruti’s Nexa outlets comprise 740 outlets in 530 cities across India.

Maruti Nexa Studio: What is it?

The outlets are exclusive to lower-tier cities

The Nexa Studio series of outlets was conceived to enhance reach in tier-3 cities, where establishing a full-scale Nexa showroom may not be feasible. Studio outlets act as an all-in-one touchpoint for sales, after-sales services and spare part facilities. This allows Maruti to further expand into more lower-tier cities while keeping investment costs in check. By the end of FY 2030-31, Maruti aims to expand Nexa Studio to 600 outlets.

With the move to expand its presence to lower-tier cities, the carmaker aims to introduce its premium product range to non-urban areas. This comes during a crucial time when Maruti expects volumes from the recently introduced e Vitara, *with Tier-II and Tier-III cities contributing about up to 10 percent of overall EV sales, as per Maruti*. If the touchpoint network is limited, the carmaker may not be able to reach potential customers. The e Vitara is an important model for Maruti, with the brand going all out with competitive prices and offering BaaS plans.

Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “There is a growing segment of customers in these areas who are desirous of a premium car buying experience. To cater to their needs, we are happy to expand our Nexa footprint to such locations. Currently, Maruti’s Nexa division of showrooms retails cars like the Ignis, Baleno, Fronx, Jimny, XL6, Grand Vitara, Invicto, and Maruti’s first-ever EV, the e Vitara.
