Mahindra has unveiled the new Vision SXT concept at the brand’s annual Independence Day event this year. This is based on an all-new monocoque modular architecture called the nu_IQ that’s capable of supporting both ICE and electric powertrains.

This is a derivative of the Vision T which has also been unveiled alongside, and as such, both are an evolution of the Thar.e concept from 2023. The Vision SXT previews an upcoming model in the Thar family, but unlike the Vision T which has a regular SUV body style, this one has a pick-up like rear section with a small load area.

It a lifestyle, outdoorsy SUV with all-terrain tyres, a high ground clearance and flared wheel arches. Some of the design features like the split grille, squarish bonnet and even the doors seem to be shared with the Vision T.

Full technical details aren’t out, but the nu_IQ platform this is based on can support SUVs measuring between 3.9 meters and 4.3 meters, so this is likely to sit in the C-segment SUV space. Despite being based on a monocoque platform, Mahindra intends to distinguish this with proper offroad appeal. As you might have already expected, it does support all-wheel drive.
