Despite being a whodunit, it had a sweeping and aching ballad Raanjhan that gradually became a rage.
The song has now officially topped the charts as the Most Streamed Song of 2025 on Spotify India. Kanika said, “This overwhelming love for ‘Raanjhan’ is truly humbling. As a producer and writer, the goal is always to tell stories that resonates with the mass and they can take back something, and to see the story of Do Patti touch so many hearts and it’s music making it into India’s most streamed track is a testament of the love that the audience has given it. A huge shoutout to Parampara, Sachet, Kausar Munir, and my director Bob for crafting a song that will be etched in the minds of listeners for a long time.”
In its review of the film, Firstpost wrote- “As usual it is always a delight to watch Kajol on screen and she plays the role of a cop for the first time. She has nailed the role of no-nonsense police inspector, Vidya Jyoti who doesn’t even think twice to put her own brother behind bars. She is a lawyer too and that comes of great help at the end of the film.”
It also wrote- “Though you will notice a lot of similarities of Raveena Tandon’s character in Aranyak with hers. The plot is simple, but the powerful performances of the two lead actors make it immersive and I am sure you will feel like drowning yourself deep into the complexities of the characters.”
