The Kremlin on Monday said that US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are expected to speak by phone “very soon”, as diplomatic efforts to end the Ukraine war continue.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said preparations for the call were under way. He also said Moscow agreed with President Trump’s assessment that talks aimed at ending the conflict were in their final stage.
Asked whether the Kremlin shared Trump’s view, expressed after his discussions with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Peskov replied, “Of course.”
