Kia has confirmed that it will debut the EV2 electric crossover at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, which is slated to commence on January 9. Previewed by the EV2 Concept earlier this year, the production-spec EV2 will serve as Kia’s new entry-level model in overseas markets. The EV2 could launch in India as well, since Kia trademarked the name here in 2023.

  1. The Kia EV2 production version looks mostly similar to the concept
  2. It may offer similar battery options as the Hyundai Inster

Kia EV2 exterior design teasers

Styling has been mostly retained from the concept

From the teaser images Kia has released, it’s evident that the production-spec EV2’s styling doesn’t stray too far from that of the concept. Up front, the EV2 has a pair of sharp, vertically arranged LED lights on either side, with a muscular skid plate and chunky cladding underneath.

Aside from the boxy proportions and swept-up window line, there’s not much to clearly glean from the EV2’s side profile teaser. At the rear, though, we can observe low-set LED tail-lamps that echo those of the Kia Syros, along with a prominent roof spoiler, a slightly angled rear windscreen, and thick cladding.

Kia has yet to confirm mechanical details for the EV2, but the compact crossover is expected to use the same 400V E-GMP platform as the Hyundai Inster. Given that the Inster offers 42kWh and 49kWh battery pack options, the EV2 may offer similarly sized units.

EV2 will be FWD and may deliver up to 400km of range

The EV2 will come equipped with a single front-mounted motor, but precise power outputs are anyone’s guess at the moment. The claimed range for the EV2 could be in the 350-400km ballpark.
