In her recent interview, Dhanashree Verma spoke about her bitter public divorce battle with Yuzvendra Chahal and facing severe trolling and backlash on social media

Dhanashree Verma has finally reacted to rumours claiming that her marriage to cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal was ‘fake’. In her recent interview, she spoke about her bitter public divorce battle and facing severe trolling and backlash on social media.

When questioned about how she remains strong after facing some comments, she told The Humans of Bombay, “There’s a reason why we say ‘personal life’. It has to be private. Look, a coin has two sides. Taali do haath se bajti hai. Just because I’m not speaking does not give anybody the power to take advantage of that.”

“It’s not correct, and I don’t think it should happen with anybody. It’s done and dusted, move on. Ho gaya abhi. Read ahead, turn your pages. Don’t go back again and again. If you want to grow in life, if you want to achieve great things, these are not the things to address again and again,” she added.

“I have lots to speak about it, I have my side of my story. Do I want to delve into that? No. Do I wish to delve into that, maybe sometime in the future? Maybe. Right now, I need to fix myself. The moment I put my energies into saying, ‘Aise nahi tha vaisa tha,’ that’s not me. If I’m being mature about this, then I have to be mature overall and not address everything that’s being spoken about in my personal life. I understand the value of keeping things private,” the actress-choreographer concluded.

“Even before I knew about this T-shirt stunt, we were aware that people were going to hold me responsible for the divorce. In your head, you just want to move forward once it’s over. Until I took out my phone and saw it, I didn’t want to believe it. Ye sach mein isne aisa kiya? In that one second, I was like—it’s over. Why should I cry? Somewhere I felt bad, questioning myself—main kyu ro rahi thi? For this? That was the motivation I needed: I just had to laugh it out. In fact, that helped me,” said
Dhanashree sharing that she expected public judgement even before Chahal’s t-shirt stunt.
