Jeep Strategic Plan 2.0 details
More export and localisation ambitions in the undertaking
Other than adding a new SUV and updates to its lineup, the carmaker has announced plans to export India-made models from its Ranjangaon facility to markets in the African and North American regions, in addition to Japan, Australia and New Zealand. In fact, India is the first country outside of North America where the SUV maker manufactures and exports to other right-hand drive markets. Moreover, the brand is targeting a localisation of 90 percent, up from the current 65-70 percent, to keep costs in check.
Along with this, the carmaker is also updating its after-sales and ownership experience through pre-maintenance, extended warranty, and premium owner loyalty and customer care programs. Currently, Jeep sells the Compass and Meridian SUVs, the latter, a premium three-row model, the Wrangler premium off-road SUV, and the Grand Cherokee.
Speaking about Jeep’s CEO and Managing Director of Stellantis India, Shailesh Hazela, said, “Jeep’s 85-year legacy is built on authenticity and adventure. Strategic Plan Jeep 2.0 lays out how we will sharpen our product strategy and strengthen the customer experience year after year, driven by deeper localisation, global product alignment, expanding our vehicle offerings, and programs that deliver real value. We are equally focused on taking care of our existing customers, ensuring they receive the support, service, and confidence they expect from Jeep. Success in India demands resilience and long-term commitment, and we are investing with that clarity to ensure Jeep remains a brand of pride and desirability.”
