Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday condemned what he called a “barbaric” attack on a school in southern Iran, following US and Israeli strikes on the country.
“This barbaric act is another black page in the record of countless crimes committed by the aggressors,” Pezeshkian said in an official statement.
According to Iranian state media, the attack killed at least 63 people and left dozens more wounded, marking a severe escalation in the ongoing conflict between Iran and the US-Israel military coalition.
An Israeli military official said several senior Iranian figures were “eliminated” on Saturday in strikes targeting gatherings of top officials of the Islamic republic.
“Three sites where gatherings of the Iranian terror regime were taking place were struck simultaneously, and several senior figures essential to the management of the campaign and the regime’s governance were eliminated,” the Israeli military official said in a statement.
