He noted, “We had a working group on human capital, which describes or which discusses both aspects, both in terms of whether what it will do to jobs one part and the other part, what kind of reskilling and retraining you need, and what kind of skilling do you need to future generations to make sure that they are AI ready for their jobs?”
World leaders, technology executives and AI founders have gathered in New Delhi for the India AI Impact Summit, which will be held from 16 to 20 February 2026. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the five-day event at Bharat Mandapam.
The summit will focus on the themes of people, planet and progress. Leaders from 20 countries and global executives, including Sundar Pichai, Sam Altman, Bill Gates and Salil Parekh, are expected to attend.
On possible announcements, Krishnan said several companies have shown interest in making investment announcements during the summit. “We have not specifically sought them, but many companies, many others, are interested in speaking about the kind of investments that can be made. So there would be definitely announcements.”
He added that some AI models supported by the government are also expected to be launched or announced during the week.
