Hyundai Venue HX8 diesel-AT: what’s new?
The HX8 is the second-from-top trim in the Venue lineup. Hyundai has made no changes to the features available on the HX8, which means it comes quite well equipped with ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, 4-way powered driver’s seat, sunroof, auto AC, 16-inch alloys, leatherette upholstery, connected tech and OTA updates, drive and traction modes, and also paddle shifters.
However, compared to the top-spec HX10 trim, this one misses out on the electrochromic IRVM, front and side parking sensors, Level 2 ADAS, the dual 12.3-inch curved displays and a Bose 8-speaker sound system. The infotainment screen here measures 10.25-inches and the digital instrument cluster comprises a 4.2-inch colour TFT display.
The Venue’s diesel variant uses a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder mill that produces 116hp and 250Nm of peak torque, and comes mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. In fact, this diesel-AT combo is one of the best diesel powertrains in the compact SUV segment. The Venue diesel also gets a 6-speed manual gearbox, available across a wider trim and price range.
Prices for the entire Venue lineup range between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 15.51 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals the likes of the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Skoda Kylaq and more.
