Starting February 16, 2026, Madhurendra Malu joins Genesis India as its new Vertical Head and also as the brand’s new Senior Management Personnel. Both these positions were earlier held by Anuraag Singh. Hyundai, the parent company of Genesis, cited restructuring within the organisation’s reporting hierarchy as a reason for Singh’s departure from the senior management position.

A graduate of Gurugram’s Management Development Institute (MDI), Malu started his two-decade-long automotive stint with Maruti Suzuki, where he worked in several leadership positions. Malu then joined Skoda in 2020, before commencing work with JSW MG Motor in 2023. During his tenure as the Head of Sales at MG Motor India, Malu helped launch the ‘MG Select’ premium dealership network. As the new Vertical Head of Genesis India, Malu brings to the job over twenty years of experience in the Indian automotive landscape.
The posh arm of Hyundai, Genesis, will reach Indian shores in 2027, competing with established upscale brands like Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Lexus, amongst others. Genesis’s global sedan lineup includes models such as the G70, G80 and G90. Meanwhile, its SUV lineup consists of models like the GV70 and the GV80 range, alongside pure-electric versions of G80, GV60 and GV70. It remains to be seen which of these makes it to India.
