The song by 7Bantai’Z, a multilingual hip-hop collective from Mumbai alongside composer-singer Rai Harrie is a strong showcase in this effort
Shanaya Kapoor and Adarsh Gourav’s dance number Fame Us may have come out roughly ten days back. But it’s only now that it’s getting momentum. There’s some thunderous and pulsating energy that the song has and has an energetic picturization. Peppy would be the right word to describe the song that brings Hip Hop to the forefront.
The song by 7Bantai’Z, a multilingual hip-hop collective from Mumbai alongside composer-singer Rai Harrie is a strong showcase in this effort. Their collaboration brings a distinctly urban energy to the soundtrack, aligning closely with the film’s youthful tone and contemporary narrative.
Why the soundtrack feels different
Tu Yaa Main, featuring Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor, releases on Feb 13, with a soundtrack that marks a notable shift in how mainstream films are embracing independent hip-hop and more rooted in connecting with the youth of the nation. The film’s music choices also show that filmmakers and music labels are increasingly willing to promote independent artists, giving them a wider audience through mainstream film releases.
What the director said
Speaking about the album and the track, filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar said “With Tu Yaa Main, we wanted the music to be real and something that speaks directly to the streets and the youth culture of today. Hip-hop has become the most honest voice of urban India, and bringing independent artists like 7Bantai’Z into the soundtrack has added that authenticity we needed.”
What lies in the trailer
The edge-of-the-seat trailer pulled audiences into the world of two content creators, until their lives took a terrifying turn when they came face-to-face with a menacing crocodile.
Kicking off with a playful Khoon Bhari Maang nod, the trailer introduces Shanaya Kapoor as Miss Vanity and Adarsh Gourav as ‘A’, a confident creator from Nalasopara. What starts as fun collabs and daring adventures quickly flips, as the duo end up trapped in a pool, stained in blood and facing a bloodthirsty crocodile that won’t back down. Survival is the only content that matters now, but will they make it out alive? This Valentine’s Day, love will definitely bite back.
