Even though there was a picture of Jackson and Epstein that made its way to the files, there was no confirmation that was made about the singer’s involvement with the late sexual offender
Late pop star Michael Jackson who passed away in 2009, was also one of the celebrities who made it to the infamous and disgraced The Epstein Files related to the sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein. Unfortunately, we don’t have the man to portray his side of the story any longer but he did try to clarify when he was with us. And there’s a lot more to this mess than what meets the eye.
All you need to know about the Neverland Island
The Neverland Ranch was the home and private amusement of Michael Jackson. But there was more to it than just amusement. A report that has surfaced on social media says that the Jackson used the Neverland Island to protect and shield children from what they call the ‘industry regime’ and sexual predators.
Even though there was a picture of Jackson and Epstein that made its way to the files, there was no confirmation that was made about the singer’s involvement with the late sexual offender.
What
Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin said
Instead, supporters point to Macaulay Culkin’s 20-year defense of Jackson as evidence that Neverland was a safe haven for children who were being targeted by other predators. The narrative suggests that the 1993 and 2003 allegations were “flipped scripts” designed to punish Michael for speaking out against industry elites.
Michael Jackson’s statement
‘I ask all of you to wait and hear the truth before you label or condemn me. Don’t treat me like a criminal because I am innocent. It was a horrifying nightmare. But if this is what I have to endure to prove my innocence, so be it. Throughout my life, I have only tried to help thousands and thousands of children to live happy lives.
It brings tears to my eyes to see any child who suffers. I am not guilty of these allegations, but if I am guilty of anything, I’ll give all that I have to give to help children all over the world.’
Netizens react
One user said, “He was trying to save kids because of the pain his dad caused him. His dad sold him out to Quincy jones…. So he knew what those kids went through he was a hero. We love u Michael.”
A second wrote- “I will forever stand by what l’ve always believed about you …. love you MJ.”
A third commented- “So sad it’s ashamed that they destroyed him that way…so sad.”
Michael Jackson’s former bodyguard defends pop icon
Jackson’s former bodyguard, Matt Fiddes, who worked with the singer for nearly a decade, pushed back strongly against any insinuation of wrongdoing.
According to Fiddes, the image was taken around 2002–2003 during a brief visit to a property in Palm Beach that Jackson was considering viewing on a house-hunting trip, long before Epstein’s crimes were publicly known or prosecuted. Fiddes said in a social media comment that Jackson did not know who Epstein was, and called the idea of a connection “all nonsense.”
Story behind the photograph
The photograph was one of many in the batch of contextualised, redacted images released under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, a recently enacted law requiring the DOJ to publish certain records. The files also included photos of Epstein with other high-profile figures, such as
former President Bill Clinton and Diana Ross, but provided no evidence of criminal behaviour linked to those pictured.
