Frank had made a bold promise on social media that he would not cut his hair until Manchester United won five games in a row, a challenge that quickly went viral among fans.
On Saturday afternoon, Manchester United continued their fine run under interim manager Michael Carrick,
beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 at Old Trafford. The match turned in United’s favour after Spurs captain Cristian Romero was sent off for a reckless challenge in the first half. United then took full control, with goals from Bryan Mbeumo and captain Bruno Fernandes sealing a comfortable win.
The victory has boosted United’s hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League, and has even brought them within nine points of league leaders Arsenal. But for Frank Ilet, the result meant that he could finally cut his overgrown afro after nearly 500 days.

In the video, Frank pretends to speak to his therapist on “day 1000” of the challenge, imagining a 3-1 defeat to West Ham United. Some supporters worried that he might be jinxing the team by talking about a loss.
“Believe me he doesn’t want United win 5 games a row,” one fan wrote. “Lowkey u might just be adding that extra pressure on them,” another fan said.
