County Sheriff’s Office said the helicopter went down near Telegraph Canyon, south of Superior, with crews attempting to access the isolated crash site on Friday afternoon as officials worked to determine if there were any
injuries.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the crash occurred at around 11 a.m. local time on Friday and involved an MD 369FF helicopter. The FAA confirmed that four people were on board at the time of the incident.
Authorities said the helicopter had departed from Pegasus Airpark in Queen Creek, Arizona, which lies west of Superior. The town of Superior is located nearly 70 miles east of Phoenix.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA are investigating the crash. The FAA has also issued a temporary flight restriction over the area “to provide a safe environment for search and rescue ops,” according to the notice.
