In an interview with The Lallantop, Nawazuddin Siddiqui revealed, “When Rajpal was getting good work, he would feed a lot of people. He supported us when we were struggling in the industry.”
Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rajpal Yadav have known each other for more than three decades. Their friendship goes back to the National School Of Drama. Siddiqui once said in an interview how they are the most trained actors of the Hindi film industry with an experience of five years.
In an interview with The Lallantop, Nawazuddin Siddiqui revealed, “When Rajpal was getting good work, he would feed a lot of people. He supported us when we were struggling in the industry. Not once did he back out from helping. He has helped many struggling actors. His house was like a langar—anybody could walk in and eat. He jokes a lot, but in reality, he is a very sensitive human being.”

In an exclusive interview with Firstpost,
Rajpal Yadav revealed back in 2024, “I joined the institution and he had just passed out so I saw his plays. We then went to NSD and I was in the first year and he was in the second year. He came to Bombay in 1996 and I came in the year 1997. We both got Shool and Jungle in the year 1999 and began shooting for the latter on either November 18 or 19 that year. Nawaz and I have done the least amount of work together.”
The actor added, “We understand the depth in our eyes. Nawaz bhai didn’t get work earlier, he got small roles, but he was 10 times bigger back then than he is today for me. Ours is a very communicative relationship and he’s an absolutely fine actor. We always appreciated each other. I never told anyone how great friends we are and will always be.”
Rajpal Yadav has been a part of the Hindi film industry for the last three decades. His most collaborations have happened with filmmakers like Ram Gopal Varma, David Dhawan, and of course Priyadarshan. Yadav made his directorial debut with a film called Ata Pata Laapata in 2010 which failed commercially.
The actor was unable to replay the loan he took to make the film and the cheques given by him and his wife bounced. He has been sentenced after he surrendered himself reportedly saying, “Sir, yahan hum sab akele hain (sir, we are alone here). There are no friends. I have to deal with this crisis on my own.”
