In a significant shift in market dynamics, Greaves Electric Mobility (comprising Greaves and Ampere) moved up to the fifth position in monthly retail sales for February 2026. GEM delivered 4,478 units in February, successfully overtaking Ola Electric, which managed only 3,891 units in the same period.
- GEM surpassed 2.7 lakh cumulative sales: Total deliveries reached 270,892 units.
- GEM outsold Ola Electric by 587 units in February.
- Ola sold 3,891 units, marking one of the brand’s weakest performances since 2022.
While Ola Electric maintains a lead in Year-to-Date (YTD) and Fiscal Year totals, its February performance represents its fourth-lowest monthly score in nearly four years. Conversely, Greaves Electric Mobility has seen a revival in demand, with CY2026 sales up 33 percent YoY so far. GEM is on track to hit the 275,000-unit cumulative milestone by the end of March 2026. After a sharp decline in CY2024, the manufacturer has rebounded. Currently, the Top 5 stand as TVS, Bajaj Auto, Ather Energy, Hero Vida, and GEM.
To sustain this momentum, GEM and Ampere announced the upcoming launch of a 6th Generation Electric Scooter for FY2027. This model is specifically designed to “de-fossilize” the mass market by targeting the sub Rs 1 lakh petrol scooter segment. Currently, GEM’s portfolio spans from the affordable Reo 80 (Rs 59,900) to the flagship Ampere Nexus (Rs 1,19,900), addressing both entry-level and family-oriented segments.
