Bagnaia victorious as Martin crashes out, Marquez’ on podium
The early laps of this German GP saw Bagnaia lead the race before Martin overtook him. Since then, the Spaniard had a decisive lead over his chief title rival before a perilous braking move on Lap 27 saw him crash out of the lead. This gave the two-time MotoGP World Champion the race lead and now Bagnaia leads the standings by 10 points.
Early in this race, Alex Marquez steadily climbed his way up from fifth place to settle into second place. For a large chunk of the race Alex was running in second before being overtaken by brother Marc in the penultimate laps of this race. The eight-time World Champion made a strong recovery, coming from 13th on the grid to the second step of the podium, despite a major highside in Saturday’s qualifying session.
Morbidelli shows pace, battles with Marquez, Bastianini

But, slowly and steadily, the VR46 academy rider has been making strides and for quite some distance was running third in the race. During the early laps, he even overtook Bagnaia and was running in second place at one point.

After Marc Marquez passed Morbidelli, he fell into the clutches of factory Ducati rider, Enea Bastianini. The two had quite the skirmish and they traded places multiple times in the span of a couple of laps. Ultimately, Bastianini got the better of the Pramac Ducati rider to finish fourth and Morbidelli finished the race in fifth place.
