The Palm Beach Airport has a personal connection to Trump as it sits just a few minutes away from his Mar-a-Lago residence. The rebranding of the airport will now need the approval of the Federal Aviation Administration
US President Donald Trump’s name will feature in an airport in Florida after a bill proposing the name change was passed by the state’s legislature on Thursday.
Trump, a real estate mogul who has plastered his name on buildings around the world, has sought to leave his mark on the country in an unprecedented image and building campaign.
As per the state records, the Palm Beach International Airport will be renamed as the “President Donald J. Trump International Airport”. The bill received overwhelming support from the Republican-led legislature.

Kennedy Centre to be renamed
Last year in December, White House announced that the board of the
US Kennedy Centre had unanimously decided to rename the performing arts centre as the “Trump-Kennedy Centre”.
While speaking on the matter at the Oval Office, Trump said that he was “surprised” and “honoured” by the change in the name. Interestingly, earlier this month, Trump appeared to hint at the possibility by joking about a name change at the annual presentation of the Kennedy Centre Honours.
Other members of the illustrious
Kennedy family have also slammed the name change. Joe Kennedy III, a former House member and grandnephew of the late president, posted on X that “the Kennedy Centre is a living memorial to a fallen president and named for President Kennedy by federal law”. “It can no sooner be renamed than can someone rename the Lincoln Memorial, no matter what anyone says,” he added.
Other instutions to get Trump’s name too?
Trump has also sought to rename New York’s Penn Station and Washington’s Dulles International Airport after himself, according to US media reports, although those efforts were rebuffed.
The Treasury Department has also confirmed reports that drafts have been drawn up for a commemorative $1 coin featuring Trump’s image, even though there are laws against displaying the image of a sitting or living president on money.
