The timing fits into the current conflict between Iran and Israel, and how it has been claimed that the U.S didn’t start the war. And Donald Trump being scrutinized
The Israeli show Tehran that first came into people’s lives six years back has been renewed for a season three and if everything falls into place, it could come back for a season four as well. Given the moniker, it’s a show that addresses wars and conflicts, the chilling aftermath, and everything in between.
It’s a series that strikes the fine balance between globetrotting thrills and gritty storytelling. The makers get what they want, and the viewers get what they wish. It’s both a slow-burner and a stylish and sweeping take on war. Tehran has three Seasons.
Created by Moshe Zonder, Dana Eden and Maor Kohn, written by Tony Saint and Simon Allen and directed by Daniel Syrkin, the eight-episode third season of Tehran premiered on Apple TV last month.
What is the show about?
Tehran follows Tamar (Sultan), a Mossad hacker-agent who infiltrates Tehran under a false identity. After going rogue at the end of season two and reeling from the loss of her closest allies, in season three, Tamar must find a way to reinvent herself and win back the Mossad’s support if she is to survive.
The show has been filmed in Athens and involves multiple languages like Farsi, English, and Hebrew. The third season has a conflict about Iran’s nuclear programme. The timing fits into the current conflict between Iran and Israel, and how it has been claimed that the U.S didn’t start the war. And
Donald Trump being scrutinized.
Official statement by US Defence Secretary
US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth on Monday said the United States did not start the conflict with Iran but under President Donald Trump it is working to bring it to an end as he outlined the rationale and scope of recent military operations against Tehran.
How did it all begin?
Production began on 28 October 2019. Some of the actors playing Iranians were born in Iran, and speak the language as their mother tongue. Niv Sultan, who plays Tamar, studied Persian for four months. In addition, she studied Krav Maga, an Israeli self-defence system. The series was shot entirely on location in Athens. And yes, there are plans of a fourth season.
Season 1 plot
Tehran Season 1 follows Tamar Rabinyan (Niv Sultan), a Mossad computer hacker-agent born in Iran but raised in Israel, who goes undercover in Tehran to disable an Iranian nuclear reactor’s air defenses. Joined by agent Marjan Montazami (Glenn Close), the high-stakes season focuses on intense, personal vengeance against general Muhammadi, resulting in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with her nemesis, Faraz.
Season 3 plot
