Emails released in the US appear to show that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, younger brother of King Charles, shared official British trade documents with Jeffrey Epstein in 2010. The material, reportedly forwarded from his position as a government trade envoy, included reports on Vietnam, Singapore and other destinations connected to an official trip.
Trade envoys are typically prohibited from disclosing sensitive or commercial information under confidentiality rules.
Long-running scrutiny over Epstein ties
Andrew, 65, has faced sustained scrutiny over his association with
Epstein, a relationship that resulted in the loss of his royal roles, titles, and residence. He has always denied any wrongdoing.
The continuing disclosures from the Epstein files have also engulfed Keir Starmer’s administration. Starmer appointed Peter Mandelson as ambassador to the United States, prompting criticism due to his acquaintance with
Epstein. As with Andrew, it appears Mandelson shared sensitive government papers with Epstein in 2009 and 2010, and police are investigating potential misconduct in public office.
Last week, Thames Valley Police confirmed they were reviewing a new allegation involving Andrew after claims surfaced of a
woman being taken to an address in Windsor, following the latest document release.
Stripped of royal titles
Mountbatten-Windsor, the second son of the late Queen Elizabeth II, stepped down from all official royal duties in 2019.
King Charles III stripped his brother of his royal titles and honours late last year after Giuffre recounted the claims in shocking detail in a posthumous memoir.
Last week it emerged a second alleged Epstein victim has claimed through her lawyer that the late US financier had sent her to Britain in 2010 to have sex with Andrew.
The ex-prince, who has strenuously denied any wrongdoing, was ousted from his Windsor mansion home, just west of London, earlier than planned last week in the wake of the latest revelations.
The files released in the US included newly damaging evidence, including a lawyer’s letter alleging that Andrew and Epstein pressured a woman hired as an exotic dancer for sex as part of a threesome in 2006.
They also contained embarrassing photos of Andrew kneeling over a clothed woman lying on the ground, and emails inviting Epstein to Buckingham Palace to talk in “private”.
