Italian marque Ducati has launched the XDiavel V4 as a replacement for the XDiavel 1260 S at an ex-showroom price of Rs 30.89 lakh. This sport cruiser adopts Ducati’s MotoGP-derived V4 Granturismo engine, bringing higher performance, reduced weight and improved comfort over the XDiavel 1260 S while retaining its signature low-slung stance and muscle-cruiser design.

The XDiavel V4 is powered by the 1,158cc V4 Granturismo engine producing 168hp and 126Nm, derived from Ducati’s Desmosedici Stradale unit. It features a counter-rotating crankshaft and cylinder deactivation technology to improve refinement and efficiency. Ducati claims the engine delivers strong low-end torque while remaining tractable in urban riding conditions. This engine also gets conventional spring valves, meaning that a valve-clearance would be needed directly at 60,000kms as opposed to every alternate service.

Since the XDiavel V4 is Ducati’s interpretation of a cruiser, it has forward-set footpegs and a swept-back handlebar for a more relaxed rider’s triangle. The company will also sell you mid-mounted footpegs as an accessory. Ducati also claims to have worked on the pillion perch, making it wider and more accommodating. The XDiavel V4 has a 770mm seat height that is 20mm lower than the Diavel V4.
Chassis hardware includes fully adjustable suspension, a single-sided swingarm and Brembo Stylema brakes with 330mm discs upfront. Despite the wide 240-section rear tyre, Ducati claims improved handling and stability, aided by a 6kg reduction in weight (wet weight, no fuel) over the XDiavel 1260. The electronics suite includes multiple riding and power modes, cornering ABS, traction and wheelie control, cruise control and a bidirectional quickshifter that can be conffigured via a 6.9-inch TFT display that’s shared with the Panigale V4.

The Ducati XDiavel V4 is available in two colours — Red and Black — priced at Rs 30.89 lakh and Rs 31.20 lakh, respectively. This marks a price difference of Rs 1.80 lakh, when compared to the standard Diavel V4
