Daisy Shah criticises election campaigners for recklessly bursting firecrackers near her Bandra East home, allegedly causing a fire, and urges people to show civic sense, calling the incident the result of “brainless people.”
Bollywood actor Daisy Shah has criticised what she described as a “lack of civic sense” after a fire broke out near her residence in Bandra East, Mumbai, allegedly triggered by firecrackers being burst during an ongoing election campaign. Shah shared a video of the blaze on her Instagram account, expressing shock and anger at the incident.
In a detailed caption accompanying the footage, Shah emphasised her neutrality toward political parties while condemning the behaviour she believes led to the dangerous situation. “I have got nothing to do with any political party, but when you hire teams to run campaigns for your elections please make sure they have some common sense in them,” she said.
She also pointed out that her building’s residents’ committee had refused permission for campaigners to enter the premises for door-to-door activity. “Thankfully our building committee refused their entry to go door to door. Bursting crackers next to the buildings is not the way to go about it,” she said, calling out the reckless behaviour near a residential area.
Showing footage of the neighbouring house engulfed in flames, Shah described the fire as an avoidable outcome of irresponsible actions. “This is what happens when people lack civic sense. It ain’t a natural calamity, it’s caused by brainless people. TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY … IT’S HIGH TIME,” she wrote.
In the comments on her post, Shah also urged people to be aware of the serious dangers posed by bursting fireworks in densely populated residential areas. “I sincerely hope that people understand the serious danger of bursting crackers roadside. This is a live example of doing so..seeing this happen right in front of my eyes was scary,” she added.
