Miguel Uribe, a Colombian senator who had been hospitalised after being shot in the head at a campaign event in June, passed away on Monday, according to his family.
Uribe, 39, a right-wing opposition presidential contender, was shot during a rally in Bogota on June 7.
“You will always be the love of my life. Thank you for a life full of love,” Maria Claudia Tarazona wrote on her Instagram account. “Rest in peace, love of my life. I will take care of our children,” she added.
