Long-awaited adaptation
The series, based on J.K. Rowling’s beloved novels, is being developed as a faithful adaptation rather than a direct continuation of the films. Each book in the seven-part saga is expected to receive its own season, allowing for more detailed storytelling than the original movies.
The Harry Potter series is penned and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner, with Mark Mylod serving as executive producer and directing several episodes. The show is being produced by HBO, in collaboration with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros Television. Executive producers also include J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, along with David Heyman of Heyday Films. Hans Zimmer has also come on board as the series’ composer.
