Canadian police have arrested three Indian-origin truck drivers in connection with a late-night shooting in Brampton, which investigators say was triggered by an ongoing rivalry between tow-truck groups, while a fourth suspect remains on the run.

How the shooting unfolded
The incident took place at around 10.45 pm local time on October 7 in a parking lot near McVean Drive and Castlemore Road in Brampton, Ontario. Police said an altercation between two groups quickly escalated, during which several gunshots were fired.
One person suffered minor injuries that were not life-threatening. Emergency services reached the scene soon after, and the area was secured for further investigation.

Arrests after weeks of investigation
Following several weeks of investigation, officers identified three individuals linked to one of the groups involved. On November 20, police executed a search warrant at a residence in Caledon, where the suspects were located and arrested.
The accused have been identified as Manjot Bhatti (26), Navjot Bhatti (26) and Amanjot Bhatti (22). All three are truck drivers of Indian origin. A fourth suspect, believed to have fired the weapon, remains at large, and police have urged the public to share any information.
Charges filed
Manjot Bhatti has been charged with multiple firearm-related offences, including reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, careless storage of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorised possession of a firearm, and being in a vehicle while knowing a firearm was present. He was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton and has since been released on bail.
Navjot Bhatti and Amanjot Bhatti have each been charged with being occupants of a motor vehicle while aware that a firearm was inside. Both were released on undertakings with conditions and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date.
Tow-truck rivalry under scrutiny
Police said the shooting was part of an ongoing dispute between rival tow-truck groups, an issue that has raised growing concerns in parts of the Greater Toronto Area. Investigations into the wider rivalry are continuing.
