Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the five-day AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, launching discussions on artificial intelligence while beginning an extensive series of diplomatic engagements with visiting world leaders.
The
summit places global AI governance, job disruption and child safety at the centre of its agenda and is expected to attract more than 2.5 lakh visitors, including international delegates.
The Prime Minister’s bilateral meetings span two days and are being held at Hyderabad House and Bharat Mandapam.
Focus on global AI governance
Organisers said the summit aims to declare a “shared roadmap for global AI governance and collaboration”. It has brought together global technology companies, startups, academic and research institutions, Union Ministries, state governments and international partners on a common platform.
The Expo segment features 13 country pavilions representing Australia, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan and Africa, highlighting international collaboration in the AI ecosystem.
Bilateral meetings at Hyderabad House
On Wednesday, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet several leaders at Hyderabad House. The discussions will include talks with Pedro Sanchez of Spain, Antti Petteri Orpo of Finland, Aleksandar Vucic of Serbia and Andrej Plenkovic of Croatia.
He will also hold meetings with Alar Karis of Estonia, Dasho Tshering Tobgay of Bhutan and Olzhas Bektenov of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
On Thursday, the Prime Minister’s engagements move to Bharat Mandapam. Meetings are scheduled with Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; Dick Schoof of the Netherlands; Guy Parmelin of the Swiss Confederation; and Kyriakos Mitsotakis of the Hellenic Republic.
These bilateral interactions are being conducted alongside the AI Impact Summit 2026, underscoring parallel diplomatic outreach during the global technology gathering.
Organised by the Ministry of Electronics and IT (Meity), the India AI Impact Summit seeks to highlight the country’s market size, technology concepts from researchers, and build consensus on a doctrine.
